Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal will be sidelined for up to three weeks with the ankle problem that saw him miss yesterday’s dismal defeat at Real Sociedad.
The 17-year-old sat out last night’s game in San Sebastián and was today withdrawn from the Spain squad for the games with Denmark and Switzerland over the next week.
A Barca statement read: “Tests this morning confirmed that first team player Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 high right ankle sprain. He is expected to be out for two to three weeks.”
It’s another disappointment for Barca, whose lead at the top of La Liga will be trimmed to three points if Real Madrid capitalise on their game in hand.

The defeat at Sociedad was the first time in 10 years they had not managed a shot on target in a game, although they were unfortunate to see Robert Lewandowski’s goal ruled out for a highly debatable offside call.
Lewandowski has also pulled out of the Poland squad for this international break having sustained a lower back injury that will sideline him for 10 days.
Barca will be hoping the former Bayern Munich striker will be fit when Hansi Flick’s side return to domestic action at Celta Vigo on November 23.
