Kylian Mbappe says he is beginning to feel more in sync with his Real Madrid team-mates following his contribution to a commanding 3-0 LaLiga victory over Leganes on Sunday.

The French forward, who had endured a four-game drought across all competitions, finally broke the deadlock with the opening goal.

Since his high-profile transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe had primarily played in a central role but was shifted back to his favoured position on the left for this match.

The tactical adjustment paid dividends as he and Vinicius Junior combined, with the Brazilian providing the assist for Mbappe’s strike.

Speaking after the match, Mbappe said: “Vinicius and I read each other very well. I’ve got a great relationship with him and he’s a great player.

“I think I put in a good performance. I’m starting to get up to speed with my teammates. I can play in every position and I’m ready to help the team and give my all.”

“It’s the story of my career. I play on the right, on the left, in the middle and with two up top. It doesn’t matter to me. I want to help the team and score goals.”

The victory keeps Real Madrid second in LaLiga, trailing Barcelona by four points.

However, Barcelona, who drew 2-2 with Celta Vigo on Saturday, have played one game more, leaving the title race wide open.

Next, Real Madrid face a tough test as they travel to England to take on Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side currently sit 18th in the league phase standings, making the upcoming match critical for their European campaign.
