Luka Modric has addressed speculation regarding his potential retirement at the end of the current campaign.

With 513 appearances for the Spanish club, the 39-year-old midfielder has solidified his status as a footballing icon and is still operating at the top level.

His tenure at the Bernabeu has been marked by significant success, including securing six Champions League titles.

The Croatian international’s contribution to Real Madrid’s midfield has been instrumental in their recent success.

Regarding his retirement timeline, Modric, as reported by Telefoot, said: “A new contract to be signed at Real Madrid? No hurry.

“The season is still long, we have many more games. Then we will see.

“My dream is clear, to retire at Real Madrid. Yes, I’d like to retire at Real Madrid, it would be a dream for me”.

Currently, Modric is focused on adding to his Champions League accolades, following Real Madrid’s victory over Atletico Madrid in the round of 16.

The team is now set to face Arsenal in the quarter-finals, with matches scheduled for early April.

In La Liga, Real Madrid are involved in a tight title race, with only a four-point gap separating them from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.
