When faced with the choice of winning the Ballon d’Or or securing the Treble with Barcelona, Pedri did not hesitate in his response.
“I would rather win the treble than the Ballon d’Or. If the Ballon d’Or comes, I want it to come alongside collective titles. Being nominated is a dream, but winning all the trophies is more important to me,” he said.
The Blaugrana can still win a Treble this season, with the club still involved in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, as well as the LaLiga title race.
“There are still many games left. We are entering the decisive period where losing three games could knock you out. These are the best matches – the ones you want to play – and why not dream of the treble?” he added.
Reflecting on his own form and enjoyment of the game, Pedri expressed how much he is relishing the current season.

“This is one of the moments I am enjoying the most. I feel confident, and my teammates make it easy for me. Now it is about continuing to enjoy and winning.
“People say I play a lot, never rotate… but it’s way better for me. I like to play, I want to play. I suffer more when I’m not playing as my body is not used to it, so it’s more difficult to recover.
“The only thing left is to recover and play on Thursday. The joy from yesterday’s match with the national team helps with recovery.
“It is difficult to recover in less than 72 hours. The calendar is tight, and it affects the intensity of the game, but you have to accept it and do your best.”
Pedri helped Spain overcome the Netherlands in the Nations League quarter-finals on penalties and is set to play a crucial role in Barca’s run in.
He has been tipped before as a future Ballon d’Or winner, but the words of the Spaniard himself suggests he will always put team accolades over individual honours.
