Real Madrid’s official TV channel has hit out at La Liga and bitter rivals Barcelona over the registration of the Blaugrana’s new arrival Dani Olmo.

On Tuesday Barca took advantage of an injury to Andreas Christensen to register their new £50m arrival from RB Leipzig, who had missed the two previous games as he could not be registered due to salary cap considerations.

The Spanish international then came off the bench to score the winner for Barca eight minutes from time at Rayo Vallecano last night.

The clause in La Liga regulations permits registered players to be replaced in the event of a long-term injury and Barca have claimed the Danish defender’s Achilles problem could sideline him until Christmas – meaning they can use 80% of his salary towards registering another player in the meantime.

The Catalan giants have already offloaded Ilkay Gundogan, Clement Lenglet, Vitor Roque and Mika Faye to try to reduce their wage bill, but still couldn’t fit Olmo into the equation until Christiansen’s injury.

Olmo, who played for Barcelona’s youth sides until the age of 16, has now been registered until December 31.

Athletic Bilbao have already asked La Liga to check whether there were any ‘irregularities’ in the process while Real Madrid TV called the situation a farce and claimed Los Blancos have to ‘navigate through a sea of filth’ in their domestic competition.

The station said: “Barça are allowed to register players arguing that a player’s injury is long term. They allow it and he ends up being decisive yesterday.

“It’s a competition that doesn’t stand up, it’s all very funny. Real Madrid has to navigate in this sea full of filth and obviously, we have to continue.”

The station also questioned refereeing standards early this season, suggesting Barcelona were favoured over Los Merengues.
