Luis Enrique is targeting an historic achievement with Paris Saint-Germain after they sealed a fourth straight Ligue 1 title on Saturday.
PSG were crowned champions with six games to spare following a 1-0 win over Angers at the Parc des Princes.
Once again the dominant force in French football, PSG have yet to lose a game domestically this season despite it being their first campaign since Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid.
PSG still have a Coupe de France final against Reims to look forward to on May 24, though the Champions League will now be at the forefront of their minds.
Aston Villa visit PSG on Wednesday for the first leg of their quarter-final tie, with Luis Enrique’s men aiming to finally end the club’s long wait for a first Champions League title. PSG last tasted European glory when they won the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1996.
But Luis Enrique is not forgetting about the league, as he is setting his sights on leading PSG to the first unbeaten season in Ligue 1 history.
“Celebrating a title in early April shows that we’ve reached a very high level this season. We’ve achieved this target, but we have more games to play,” Luis Enrique said.
“We are motivated to try and finish this season unbeaten. Nobody has done that in France before, so that’s something that we want to achieve. That would help us in the Champions League and the Coupe de France.
“We have the last two months ahead of us, we’re in great form. Our target is to keep fighting and to go as far as possible in the Champions League.”
PSG are next in action in the league against Le Havre on April 19. They will also face Nantes, Nice, Strasbourg and Montpellier before rounding the season off against Auxerre.
