Ole Gunner Solskjaer has been confirmed as the new manager of Turkish side Besiktas.
The Norwegian has signed an 18-month deal with the Super Lig outfit in what is his first managerial role since being sacked by Manchester United in 2021.
He has an option to extend his deal for a further season.
Besiktas, who have won the Turkish league 16 times, are currently sixth in the table – 21 points off leaders Galatasaray.
They have been without a permanent manager since Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst left in November.
“We believe Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will make significant contributions to our club, and we warmly welcome him to the Besiktas family, wishing him great success,” said the Istanbul club.
Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as Man Utd boss in December 2018, before landing the role permanently in March 2019.
He guided the Red Devils to a second-place Premier League finish and Europa League final during his time in charge, before being dismissed in November 2021 after a poor run of form.
After just less than three years in the hotseat, he is the Red Devils’ longest-serving manager since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.
Prior to his Old Trafford spell, the 51-year-old had two spells in charge of Molde and one at Cardiff.
As a player, he scored 126 goals in 11 seasons for United from 1996 to 2007 and is well known for his winner in the 1999 Champions League final.
