Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has labelled team-mate Mohamed Salah as the “ultimate professional” as questions continue to surround the Egyptian’s future on Merseyside.
Salah is entering the final few months of his contract at the club and can begin discussing deals with other teams from January.
In an interview last week, he revealed that there have been no discussions with the club about extending his stay at Anfield.
It is said that Fenway Sports Group are reluctant to operate outside of their usual financial barrier to tie Salah down to an extension, leaving more questions than answers about whether he will still be playing in red next season.
But Robertson has defended Salah’s recent actions and says their main focus is always on the next game.
Speaking ahead of the Champions League clash against Real Madrid, he said: “All I can say is you look at Mo today, you look at Mo yesterday and he is the ultimate professional.

“It is the same for all three of them, Mo, Virgil [van Dijk] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold] who are all in similar positions – every one of them is focused on the next game and training and preparing properly.
“They have been leaders this year. They aren’t getting distracted and we are excited for the game tomorrow night.
“We are all playing with confidence and we all believe in what we are doing and that helps with results and it shows you with the two positions we are in.
“There is a long way to go in both competitions and it isn’t time to get carried away.”
