Liverpool manager Arne Slot has said the club’s 140-year-old Anfield home is the stadium opposition clubs least like visiting in England.
Premier League newcomer Slot joined Liverpool in June from Feyenoord, whose De Kuip stadium is known for having one of the greatest atmospheres in the Netherlands.
“I left a club where the fans were really special,” the Dutchman told Liverpool’s website. “If you would ask anyone in Holland which stadium they hate most to play in, I think everybody would – if you are from the other team – answer De Kuip.
“And I think in England, it’s the same at Anfield. The other teams don’t like to play at Anfield because of the fans and because of the style of play of Liverpool.”

Slot Feyenoord record
Feyenoord lost five out of 51 home league matches during Slot’s three seasons in charge and were unbeaten in his first 16 games at De Kuip in Europe.
A 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Uefa Champions League ended that run last November before they were knocked out of the Europa League play-offs on penalties by Roma following two 1-1 draws with the Italian side.
The Rotterdam club had the best home defensive record in last season’s Eredivisie and the third-best overall at home.
Only runaway champions PSV Eindhoven matched their tally of 42 away points, which was identical to their home record of 13 wins, three draws and one defeat.

Arne Slot: Liverpool home record
Liverpool had the best home record in the Premier League in 2023/24, winning 15 and losing one of their 19 matches to earn a point more than Manchester City and Arsenal on their own turf.
They scored 18 goals in five games at Anfield in domestic cup competitions but lost 3-0 to Atalanta in a Europa League defeat which led to their exit from the competition.
