Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice is targeting winning trophies in the new year after the Gunners saw off Ipswich to move into second in the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side have finished second behind Manchester City in each of the last two seasons and now trail Liverpool by six points going into 2025.
The Gunners are also going well in the Champions League and have a Carabao Cup semi-final againt Newcastle coming up.
“It has been a good year. We have done well, but it is not what we want,” said Rice.
"Maybe towards the end [of last season] we did feel that pressure"

“Hopefully, the new year brings trophies. To make that next step to be amongst the elite. We can keep winning games, but it doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win anything.”
Kai Havertz’s goal was enough to beat Ipswich and make it eight wins in 11 games since back-to-back defeats in November.
The Gunners were frustrating in front of goal and Rice says they need a favour from other teams to stop Liverpool – who face West Ham on Sunday.
“Massive respect to them. They are full throttle.,” Rice said.
“They don’t let anyone breathe and we need someone to help us out so they can drop some points.
“I think Chelsea have been outstanding. They’ve been amazing the way they’ve been playing.”
