Arsenal versus Manchester City has, for the past two seasons, been a crunch fixture in the Premier League title race.
This season, however, only Arsenal are fighting it out near the summit, with City’s focus on securing a place in the Champions League for next season.
The Gunners took on City a day before looking to bolster their attacking options by Monday’s transfer deadline, having been rebuffed by Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
The reverse fixture earlier this season ended 2-2, with John Stones netting a last-gasp equaliser for City in a bad-tempered affair that saw Arsenal play the entire second half with 10 men following the dismissal of Leandro Trossard.
