Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa and Everton meet at Villa Park in the Premier League with both sides desperate to pick up points ahead of a busy schedule.

It is the start of a run that includes six games in 19 days for Unai Emery’s men, while Sean Dyche’s side need every point they can get in a difficult period for the Toffees.

And with the line-ups now being revealed, both sets of fans will be happy with the players set to start on Saturday evening.

Aston Villa team news

There were question marks over Ollie Watkins’ fitness for this match after playing less than he would like so far this season but the England international does get the nod up top for Villa.

Jacob Ramsey will sit in behind the striker and then a bank of four including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Amadou Onana and John McGinn will make up the midfield.

Lucas Digne gets the nod at left-back, meaning Ian Maatsen is on the bench for Villa, while Pau Torres lines up alongside Ezri Konsa, who made it past an injury scare for England during the break.

Lamare Bogarde slots in at right-back, with Emiliano Martinez in goal for the hosts.

Villa will have plenty of firepower on the bench with the likes of Ross Barkley, Emiliano Buendia and Jhon Duran ready to make their mark, while Leon Bailey misses out with a hamstring injury.

Everton team news

Everton have gone with their tried and tested line-up, with Jordan Pickford, Vitalii Mykolenko, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Ashley Young forming the defence.

Three powerful midfielders in Iliman Ndiaye, Idrissa Gueye and Tim Iroegbunam sit in front and both Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison have been given the license to roam ahead of them.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the lone striker for the Toffees, but he will need some support if the visitors are going to breach a tough Villa defence.

Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ben Garner and Beto are the key names to watch from the bench if they are needed in the Midlands.
