Manchester City will look to bounce back from their first defeat of the season this afternoon when they visit Bournemouth.

Pep Guardiola’s men lost 2-1 at Tottenham in the EFL Cup in midweek, after which the Catalan complained of only having 13 fit outfield players.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola makes three changes to the side that drew 1-1 at Aston Villa last week.

Out go Julian Araujo, Enes Unal and Dango Ouattara with Marcus Tavernier, Evanilson and Adam Smith coming in.

Despite suggesting otherwise at his press conference yesterday, Guardiola was able to name a strong side for the trip to the South Coast.

Kyle Walker returns at right-back and will captain the side while Manuel Akanji, who missed the game at Spurs after suffering a calf injury in the warm-up, is also included.

Most surprisingly of all is Kevin De Bruyne’s appearance as one of the substitutes. The Belgium midfielder was not expected back until after the international break and it remains to be seen if he will take to the field at the Vitality Stadium.

Manchester City: Ederson, Walker, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Gundogan, Silva, Foden, Nunes, Haaland
