Manchester City will be hoping to end a run of three consecutive defeats when they travel to Brighton in the Premier League.

It is the first time City have lost three games in a row since the 2017-18 season and defeat against Fabian Hurzeler’s side would be the first time Guardiola will lose four on the bounce in his managerial career.

City are currently second in the table, two points behind leaders Liverpool, and Guardiola will be looking for a reaction from his players after suffering a 4-1 Champions League defeat at the hands of incoming Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim’s Sporting on Tuesday.

Brighton will also be hoping for a positive result after back-to-back defeats to Liverpool in the EFL Cup and Premier League.

Hurzeler’s team sit in eighth, level on points with Tottenham.

Here are how the two teams line-up for the clash on the south coast.

Brighton line-up

In-form striker Danny Welbeck leads the line for Brighton as they look to inflict further misery on the defending champions.

Welbeck has bagged six goals in 11 games this term, earning him an October Premier League player of the month nomination.

Hurzeler’s side are unbeaten in their five home league games so far this season and will be hoping to extend that run.

Manchester City line-up

Guardiola makes two changes to the side that started in Lisbon in midweek. Kyle Walker returns to captain the side, in place of Manuel Akanji, while Ilkay Gundogan comes in for Bernardo Silva.
