Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah

Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.

Comparisons are often drawn between Hazard and Salah given their similar, diminutive stature and the general brilliance the pair have brought to the Premier League.

And while Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he’d rather have Salah alongside him.

The Liverpudlian told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: “I know he [Hazard] is compared with Mo all the time. I’ve been into it with Mo.

“As a player who I’ve seen from [being] a kid, I loved the game, I was studying the game and I wanted to be like a player. I feel like it was Hazard who was the one. Every game I watched him I was just like wow… that’s football.”

Jones added: “As a footballer is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have in your team? You’re going to say Mo because he gets you the goals and the assists.”

Jones’ verdict caused a stir on social media, promoting Jones to reiterate his point over who he would rather play alongside.

Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool’s rise to the top of the Premier League table with 18 goals and 13 assists this season.
