Sean Dyche is backing Thomas Tuchel to succeed at England.
The German was drafted in to replace Gareth Southgate, ending Lee Carsley’s reign as interim manager.
Media outlets have kicked up a fuss regarding Tuchel’s nationality, citing that the Three Lions boss should always be English.
But Dyche disagrees with what is being said in the papers, and pointed to the fact that Southgate won nothing in eight years in charge.
Speaking to the media ahead of Everton’s match against Ipswich in the Premier League, he said: “I think most would have liked an English coach or that’s the general feeling I get from the masses it seems.
“The game is diversifying all the time and he certainly has got a record that justifies him getting the job.

“I don’t think it’s disheartening, I think it’s a reality for the modern game. Every pathway doesn’t lead to where you want it to.
“In theory, the idea was to get English coaches and fastback certain people through the system and manage the country but it’s changed so much.
“All of us want to win and I think sometimes it gets lost in modern football.
“I don’t think he’ll be under an illusion as manager, he’s been put in there to win.
“Gareth [Southgate] did an amazing job but he didn’t win.
“The next step is trying to win something. Plenty of good managers have tried since 1966 and no one has done it.”
