Erling Haaland sent an optimistic message on social media after the Manchester City striker suffered an injury that could have ended his domestic season.
Haaland left the Vitality Stadium on crutches after suffering an ankle injury during City’s 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win at Bournemouth.
Manager Pep Guardiola said of the timescale for his return: “They told me the doctors say between five to seven weeks.
“So hopefully the end of the season and by the Club World Cup he will be ready.”
A seven-week absence would see Haaland miss the FA Cup final on May 17, in which City will feature if they beat Nottingham Forest in the Wembley semi-final on April 26.
But it could put him in line to return for City’s Premier League finale against Fulham on May 25, with Guardiola’s men beginning their campaign in the revamped 32-team Club World Cup against Moroccan side Wydad AC on June 18.

And in his first social media post since the injury, Haaland was upbeat, posting a picture of himself arms aloft with the caption: “I’ll be back.”
Despite some criticism of his all-round play, Haaland has still scored 30 goals in all competitions for City this season.
In his absence, Omar Marmoush, a January signing from Eintracht Frankfurt, will be expected to carry the goalscoring burden.
Marmoush scored the winner against Bournemouth after Haaland levelled matters. The Egypt international has five goals so far in his brief time at the Etihad Stadium.
