Arne Slot hailed Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian scored a brace in Liverpool’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Newcastle in the Premier League.
Slot’s side twice came from behind at St James’ Park courtesy of Curtis Jones and Salah before the Reds’ top scorer gave Liverpool the lead with seven minutes of normal time remaining.
However, Fabian Schar found the net deep into second-half stoppage time to rescue a point for the hosts.
Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon grabbed the other goals for Eddie Howe’s team.

Much has been made of Salah’s future in recent weeks, with the player and club yet to reach an agreement over a possible contract extension that would see him remain at Anfield beyond next summer.
But the Liverpool boss was quick to praise the consistency of his star man.
“Every time we need him [Salah] he scores an important goal,” said Slot.
“Until now and this season and we are hoping that he can continue this for a long time.
“After the assist he gave and we got to 1-1 he was outstanding. Apart from the goals he did more special things for us. Great performance from him second-half as well.”

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe also appeared upbeat at full-time.
“I feel positive,” Howe said.
“I feel really positive. I thought that was a much better performance from us.
“You know the quality they have off the bench. When Trent [Alexander-Arnold] comes on with his creativity, we knew we were going to have a potential issue.
“But I thought our mental quality came to fore because we held in there and got a deserved equaliser.
“We scored three goals. I thought we looked dynamic, athletic and played with a lot of quality.”
