Southampton boss Ivan Juric has offered “no assurances” that teenage star Tyler Dibling will not be sold in the January window.

Dibling has been a shining light in a thoroughly miserable season for the Saints, who sit bottom of the Premier League with just six points to their name.

The 18-year-old winger has been linked with RB Leipzig, Tottenham and Manchester United with Southampton reportedly placing a £55million price tag on his shoulders.

With relegation a near certainty, the club face a dilemma on whether to cash in now or potentially see his value reduce in the summer.

Juric said: “There are no assurances in football, we know that.

“But I am pretty sure that I will be coaching Dibling all this year. He is very motivated, like we see in the game. I saw him really focused, concentrated. No problem.”

Dibling to miss Magpies clash through injury

Dibling will miss Saturday’s home game with Newcastle after sustaining an ankle problem in the defeat at Manchester United last week.

The early prognosis would be the player would miss up to six weeks but Juric is hoping he will be able to return before that.

He added: ”In this moment, we are a little bit more optimistic. We will see next week how we are proceeding. Everybody is more optimistic and we will see. Next week we can say something more.”

Kamaldeen Sulemana will also sit out the weekend game.

Juric said: “I think he’s had some really good games since I’ve arrived but he will not play against Newcastle because he has a little injury.

“Like Tyler Dibling, I think he will stay here. I think we will find a way to play with these two young guys, they did really well and now we are losing them because of their injuries. In the future it will be a good option for us.”
