Tyler Adams will “train fully” with Bournemouth during the international break but is not ready to return to action at Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm BST), Cherries manager Andoni Iraola has said.

USA midfielder Adams, who has made one nine-minute appearance for Bournemouth since March, had back surgery during the summer.

Iraola said the rest of his players are available as they target a second win in six days following their 3-1 home league victory over Southampton on Monday.

Evanilson goals

Club-record signing Evanilson opened his account for Bournemouth with their first goal against Saints, netting on his sixth appearance since arriving for £40.2 million from Porto in August.

The 24-year-old missed a 36th-minute penalty in their previous home game, when Chelsea scored the only goal of the match four minutes from time.

“He is relived after the goal,” Iraola said of the Brazil international. “He is very important for us. He was playing well but after the penalty miss, he felt bad.

“When he scored you could see his reaction and his team-mates. I want him to be the player who scores all the goals. He has to help us play well.

“His understanding is getting better. He needs to help us in the press. I focus more on these things rather than goals.”

Bournemouth vs Leicester

Iraola praised Leicester for “doing good things” during a start to the season comprising three draws and three defeats for the 2023-24 Championship winners.

The Foxes recovered from 2-0 behind at the break to score two second-half goals at Arsenal last Saturday, only to concede twice during added time in a 4-2 defeat.

“It’s going to be difficult, especially as an away game,” said Iraola. “They’ve been fighting in every game. We have be at our best if we want to win.

“I don’t think it’s fair to go into this game looking at how Leicester performed against Arsenal. It’s goingto be tough.”
