It has been an impressive year for Aston Villa and they will aim to end it with three points against Brighton tonight.

Having secured a place in the Champions League for the first time, Unai Emery’s side will look to move up to sixth in the Premier League table with victory against a Brighton team seemingly heading in the opposite direction at present.

Fabian Hurzeler made a bright start at the Amex Stadium but a run of no win in six has seen them slide down the table.

Ollie Watkins will return in attack for Villa with Jhon Duran suspended following his harsh red card at Newcastle on Boxing Day.
