David Moyes will hope Everton can maintain their recent improvement when they take on his former club Manchester United tomorrow.

The Toffees are unbeaten in five league games and have moved above United and into 14th place in the Premier League to all but banish any fears of relegation.

Moyes endured a miserable spell at Old Trafford after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson but insists there is no added motivation to beat United tomorrow. He said: “No, not at all. I played against them a lot when I was manager of West Ham so it’s another game in many ways. It’s a great football club but my job is to try and beat them at the moment.”

United remain a work in progress under Ruben Amorim and have lost three of their last four league games.
