Manchester United have the perfect opportunity to prove they can perform against the Premier League’s struggling sides when they host Southampton tonight.

United have played well in their last two away games – drawing at Liverpool and winning at Arsenal in the FA Cup on a penalty shoot-out – with head coach Ruben Amorim demanding they replicate those performances over the coming weeks against the likes of Southampton, Brighton and Fulham.

If he were to handpick an opponent then it’s likely he would go for a Saints side that has claimed just six points so far this season.

New boss Ivan Juric has been handed an incredibly difficult task and it seems inevitable that Southampton will be making an immediate return to the Championship.
