Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah wants the club to “win it all” this season and dismissed claims the Reds are underdogs in the Premier League title race.
Salah is out of contract at Anfield in the summer, with both parties remaining tight-lipped over what the future holds for the Egyptian amid reports of interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
He has not let speculation affect his form this season though, with the 32-year-old notching 10 goals and 10 assists during the Reds’ brilliant start to Arne Slot’s reign, with the Dutch boss describing Salah as “special” after scoring in their recent 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
Liverpool have one 16 of their 18 games under Slot’s stewardship and currently sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League as well as setting the pace in the Champions League.
Asked about what he hopes to achieve this term on the club’s YouTube show Reds Roundtable, Salah said: Win it all. In my opinion, I work so hard every day, I hate the idea that we are underdogs.
“No, we have an incredible group … In each position, you’re gonna find players that are really one of the top three in the world.
“So, why we don’t win it? This city and this club has to always fight for everything.”
This is exactly why he is essential. I will cry the day he retires.
He understands the club, he understand the city. He is a scouser at heart.

Salah: Everybody will leave one day
Salah has been a key man for the Reds ever since arriving in 2017, having won the Premier League and Champions League during his time on Merseyside and scoring 221 goals.
But the forward says the departure of Roberto Firmino, who he starred alongside in a front three with Sadio Mane, was a reminder that all good things must come to an end.
“The thing I appreciate the most is the time when I go every morning and I see the guys and share unbelievable moments, especially us three plus Virgil [van Dijk] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold], the senior group,” he added.
“When Bobby [Firmino] left, for example, you realise everybody will leave one day so I don’t take that for granted.
“When I go [to the training ground], I always try to have a laugh with them and spend good time together. In my head, I always remember the good things we had together.”
Salah is not the only Liverpool star whose future is in doubt with both Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold out of contract next summer.
Like Salah, neither’s contract situations looks close to being resolved, with Alexander-Arnold strongly linked with Real Madrid.
