Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot says that vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold remains focused on his performances amid ongoing speculation about his future at the club.
The 26-year-old right-back, whose contract with Liverpool is set to expire at the end of the season, has recently been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid.
But despite the rumours, Alexander-Arnold has maintained that discussions regarding his contract will be kept private.

Having risen through the ranks at Liverpool, Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed a highly successful career with the club, winning major honours including the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Club World Cup since his senior debut in 2016.

Along with Alexander-Arnold, captain Virgil van Dijk and forward Mohamed Salah also face the end of their contracts this season.

However, Slot believes that the players are unfazed by the speculation surrounding their futures.

He said: “I think you underestimate our players.

“These players are used to being linked with top clubs regularly, regardless of their contract situations.

“If you think they’re disturbed by this interest, then you’re not giving them enough credit for how strong they are mentally.”

“Maybe if you’re 17 or 18 years old, it could be tough.

“But these players have won the league, they’ve won the Champions League. I don’t think it’s an issue for them to perform, and you can see that because they’re playing really well.”

Liverpool currently sit at the top of the Premier League table with 18 points from seven matches.
