Manchester City secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Leicester at the Etihad, with goals from Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush sealing the win for the champions.
City wasted no time in asserting their dominance in the game, breaking the deadlock within two minutes.
Boubakary Soumare was dispossessed in midfield, allowing Jeremy Doku and Savinho to exploit the space down the right flank. Savinho squared the ball across the box to an unmarked Grealish, who calmly side-footed past Mads Hermansen into the bottom-left corner.
The goal marked Grealish’s first in the Premier League since December 2023.
Leicester, meanwhile, struggled to gain a foothold in the match. They managed just one shot in the entire first half, a wayward effort from Bilal El Khannouss in the 16th minute.
City doubled their advantage in the 29th minute. A pass into the box from Ruben Dias caused confusion between Hermansen and Wout Faes, with the goalkeeper clattering into his own defender.

The ball fell kindly to Marmoush, who rifled his effort off the crossbar and into the net to put City firmly in control.
Despite a few moments of individual brilliance from Hermansen, who tipped over a fierce Savinho effort later in the half, Leicester never looked likely to mount a comeback.
Ultimately, City never looked troubled, seeing out the final minutes in complete control. With their FA Cup challenge still in mind, Pep Guardiola’s side will be pleased with the professional performance as they continue their push towards the Premier League top four spots.
