Bruno Fernandes says the current malaise at Manchester United is “not okay” and any player who thinks it is should be moved on.

United slumped to a dismal 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton yesterday, their sixth loss in their last nine league games, after which head coach Ruben Amorim admitted it was maybe the “worst team in the history of Manchester United”.

Amorim’s side were again rudderless and captain Fernandes is demanding the players sort it out, and quickly.

He told Sky Sports: “I understand the perspective from the outside. But we can’t be comfortable in thinking that this is okay. It’s not.

“I’m not here to lose games and be in the position we are in at the moment. But I know that no-one in that dressing room is and if someone is, they can’t be here.”

Brighton’s win continued their domination of United. The Seagulls have now won six of their last seven meetings including all three at Old Trafford, not that that was of interest to Portugal midfielder Fernandes.

He added: “It doesn’t matter to me. It’s another loss to us. It doesn’t matter how many times they’ve won against us.

“I remember in the past where they haven’t won a game here. That’s not going to change anything.

“The main thing that is going change for us is we didn’t get the three points today. Congratulations to them, they did a good game and they deservedly won the game.”

United have the chance to bounce back on Thursday night when they host Rangers in the Europa League. Their next league game comes next Sunday at Fulham.
