Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim refused to lay blame on any individual players following the club’s recent struggles.

The Red Devils moved into 12th in the Premier League on Thursday following a 3-1 win over Southampton, but they made hard work of the Saints.

Since taking over, the former Sporting boss has failed to deliver any consistency, resulting in a mixed bag of results.

United recently beat Arsenal in the FA Cup, but have also lost to the likes of Wolves and drawn to Ipswich.

Questions have been asked of Amorim’s players, including striker Rasmus Hojlund.

But the Portuguese tactician was not putting any blame on him, instead suggesting there is a team problem.

He said: “I think it’s a team problem. You can see it, it’s not just from now, it’s from the past. So we have clearly a lack of goals and a lack of threat.

“When you threaten the opponents, the opponents maybe don’t press you so high.

“So everything is connected. All the players have moments in this season. I think when we started this journey together, Rasmus was the player that was always scoring. So he can come back in the next game, we will see. But I think it’s more a team problem than a Rasmus problem.”

The poor form has resulted in several players being linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Antony is one of those and speculation has only grown since the winger missed a sitter against the Saints.

Amorim added: “Like I said, I want to keep my players, I’m focused on these players. I don’t know what is going to happen this window, we’ll see. But he did a good job [against Southampton].”
