Amad Diallo offered a cheeky response to the news Noussair Mazraoui had won Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for November.

Mazraoui impressed under interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy and then new manager Ruben Amorim as United went through the month unbeaten.

The Morocco international has shown his versatility across the five games in November, playing at right-back, left-back and centre-half.

Speaking before tomorrow night’s game at Arsenal, Amorim said of the 27-year-old: “He’s a top player, because he understands the game. He knows how to attack, he’s very technical, he’s very good defensively and he’s very good one on one.

“He’s a modern player. I think he’s the future of our team. When you think about him you think like we need more players like Nous that can control the tempo, they are really, really good and comfortable with the ball.”

Mazraoui garnered 55 per cent of the fan vote to net the award, ahead of Amad (23 per cent) and goalkeeper Andre Onana (21 per cent).

Former Sunderland loanee Amad demanded a second look, however, replying to United’s announcement on X by showing a clip of a referee going to the VAR monitor!
