Newcastle host Bournemouth kick off the Premier League weekend with a key clash between European contenders.

Both sides have been in impressive forkm this season, with the in-form Magpies winning their last nine games in all competitions in a run which has seen them move into the top four. A 10th straight victory would be a club record for the Geordie side.

Andoni Iraola’s Cherries are also surprise contenders for a European place this season and are themselves looking to preserve a run of 10 games without defeat.

Eddie Howe has named an unchanged team from the XI that beat Wolves 3-0 on Tyneside.

Defender Fabian Schar is back among the substitutes after recovering from illness and suspension which has seen him miss the last three games.

Bournemouth team news

There are two changes for the visitors, with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga back in the side after being unable to face parent club Chelsea in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Justin Kluivert is the other player who comes back in, with Lewis Cook switching to right-back and James Hill sitting the game out.
