Manager Oliver Glasner says it is “not so easy” for Crystal Palace’s squad and staff to avoid being affected by their seven-match winless start to the Premier League season.
Third-bottom Palace head to Nottingham Forest on Monday (8pm BST) on a two-match losing run, although they threatened to equalise during the second half of their 1-0 home defeat against Liverpool before the international break.
The Eagles won one of their first six games under Glasner following his appointment in February but finished last season with a run of six wins in seven matches.

Palace ‘self-critical’ over results
“It’s not [a case of] complaining about it,” Glasner reflected on his side’s setback against the Premier League leaders.
“If you win six out of seven, or if you don’t win in seven, everybody is human, everybody is thinking about it. All our players are very self-critical and thinking: ‘Why did I miss this chance? Why couldn’t I defend this goal?’
“They take a lot of pressure on their shoulders. The best thing is in these situations is to always look at the team.”
Forest vs Palace stats
Should they fail to beat 10th-placed Forest, Palace will be on their longest winless start to a campaign since 1992-93, when they were relegated from the top flight.
They last beat Forest in the top division in 1991, taking a point from the fixture six times and losing four editions since then.
“We can solve this just as a team,” said Glasner. “Not one single player can solve it for us. We need everyone. We work very analytically and always try to keep the mood high… not blaming each other. ‘Okay, stick together, let’s work hard, let’s improve and then we will get the results’.”
“Marc do your press-ups!” 😅

Palace injuries, team news
Glasner said Adam Wharton is likely to require surgery to prevent a groin problem from recurring but the Austrian expects him to return to contention against Forest.
Fellow midfielder Cheick Doucoure should return to training next week after being troubled by a tendon issue in a toe.
“I tried to switch off with the weekend off but, as I said, we are all human,” added Glasner. “I was in Austria, I visited my family, but sometimes they said ‘you are not really here’.
“This is the fate of a football manager: your thoughts, especially in these moments, are always about your team and what you can influence.”
