Manchester City have welcomed the reconciliation of celebrity fans Liam and Noel Gallagher, who are set to reform Oasis and play a series of gigs in 2025.
The band split in 2009 after the Gallagher brothers had a well-publicised fall-out in Paris following months of off-stage friction.
Both have carved out successful solo careers since but the news they are reforming has sparked enormous interest with tickets for the shows in London, Cardiff, Manchester, Edinburgh and Dublin set to be in huge demand.
Both Liam and Noel are well-known City fans having hailed from nearby Burnage with the latter in particular regularly seen at games.
And the four-time defending Premier League champions were quick to welcome them back by highlighting a comeback of their own – City’s 3-2 win over Aston Villa on the last day of the 2021-22 season, when Pep Guardiola’s side hit back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and claim the title.
