Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner has called for more protection for star man Eberechi Eze.
The England international is having to spend more time on the sideline after picking up another injury.
Eze has featured in nine of Palace’s 11 Premier League games this term, scoring once and getting one assist.
But as has usually been the case with the 26-year-old, he has been unable to put a run of games together.
And Glasner has asked officials to help the attacker by protecting him during games.
In his pre-match press conference, he said: “I had a long chat with him today because he’s very ambitious, he’s a great guy and he works really hard.

“He wanted to be with us, he felt like he was ready.
“Of course, I want him to play but we have to protect him and therefore yes we lose him for one game but we have 15 games in December and January and we need him for 15 games not just for one.”
Palace sit 18th in the Premier League, with just one win in 2024-25.
They face Aston Villa away this weekend, a tough test for the South London side.
And with Eze not available, Glasner will need to call on the rest of his squad to put up a fight at Villa Park.
