Callum Hudson-Odoi of Nottingham Forest

Manchester United set the tone for an exciting afternoon of Premier League football by beating Southampton 3-0 in the early kick-off.

And there were five more games on the menu at 3pm ahead of Aston Villa vs Everton and Bournemouth vs Chelsea to complete an action-packed Saturday.

Read on to discover what happened across the top flight throughout the day.

Brighton 0-0 Ipswich

Ipswich earned their first Premier League points since returning to the top flight in a hard-fought draw with Brighton.

The Seagulls have started well under new head coach Fabian Hurzeler but struggled without goalscorer Joao Pedro in the squad.

Brighton still dominated the match, having 70% possession and 21 shots compared to Ipswich’s six.

But in the end, it was a point each at the Amex Stadium.

Crystal Palace 2-2 Leicester

Crystal Palace grabbed a last-gasp equaliser against Leicester to earn a point at Selhurst Park.

Things were not going the Eagles’ way in South London and they fell behind to a Jamie Vardy strike in the 21st minute.

It was then 2-0 to the Foxes after Stephy Mavididi netted a minute into the first half, leaving a mountain to climb for the hosts.

But climb that mountain they did and they have Jean-Philippe Mateta to thank for his brace, including a penalty in the dying seconds to make it 2-2.

Fulham 1-1 West Ham

Like Crystal Palace, West Ham found a way to earn themselves a point against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

It was a commanding display from Marco Silva’s men and they deservedly took the lead through Santiago Jimenez in the first half.

They did waste a lot of chances in the match, having 21 shots and four big chances and they got punished in the end.

Substitute Danny Ings popped up with a 95th-minute goal in a true snatch-and-grab job for the Hammers.

Liverpool 0-1 Nottingham Forest

Undoubtedly what will be the biggest shock of the weekend is Nottingham Forest beating Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels won Player of the Match, pulling off five saves after Callum Hudson-Odoi netted the winner 15 minutes from time.

It was a rare off day for Mohammed Salah, who struggled to have any impact on the game like Diogo Jota.

Arne Slot has now suffered his first competitive loss as Reds boss ahead of a big week in the Champions League.

Manchester City 2-1 Brentford

Manchester City had to come from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 at the Etihad.

Yoane Wissa headed into an empty net inside the first minute and from there it was a case of seeing how long the Bees could hold out.

The answer was just 18 minutes.

Erling Haaland equalised before scoring again before half-time and earning the champions three more points.
