Mohamed Salah insists his only focus is on Liverpool winning the Premier League title despite his future at Anfield remaining uncertain.

Salah scored and assisted two more in a 5-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday as Arne Slot’s side ran riot at the London Stadium.

Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Trent Alexander-Arnold and substitute Diogo Jota also found the net as Liverpool end the year in pole position for the league title.

But one of the main talking points coming out of Anfield in recent weeks has been the future of Salah, Alexander-Arnold and captain Virgil van Dijk, all of whom are out of contract this summer.

All three are yet to agree to an extension but the Reds top scorer this term says his main priority is making sure his team pick up some silverware this term.

“The only thing on my mind is that I want Liverpool to win the league,” Salah told Sky Sports after the game. “I just want to be part of that.

“That’s the only thing I have focussed on since the start of the season. So I will do my best for the team to win the trophy.

“We are in the right direction but of course there are a few other teams who are trying to catch up with us. We just need to stay focussed, work hard and go again.”

On the contract situation, Salah remained tight-lipped: “We are far away from that. I don’t want to put something in the media.

“I am focussed on the team and hopefully we will win the Premier League.”

Slot was also keen not to give anything away to the press about matters off the pitch.

The Liverpool boss said to Sky Sports: “People talk even more about it [in January]. Not only about these three [Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold] but other players because it’s a month where players can make a transfer as well.

“So it’s not only going to be this upcoming month about the three, but also about the ones we bring in and the ones who could also leave.”

Slot did, however, single out Alexander-Arnold for praise amid growing speculation the 26-year-old wants to leave Liverpool in the summer, with Real Madrid believed to be the likely destination.

“He [Alexander-Arnold] is playing really well. He scored a great goal and the way he celebrated his goal probably tells you enough.

“So I don’t think I have to say much more about it. I’m really happy with Trent just as a I am happy with Mo [Salah] and with Virgil [van Dijk]. So for me there is no difference.

“For the outside world, maybe there is a bit more happening in the media. But I’m happy with all three of them at the moment.

Liverpool are next in action when they host fierce rivals Manchester United on 5 January.
