Leicester boss Steve Cooper says the club have met with the Premier League to discuss an “awful human error” made by VAR during last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Foxes got themselves into a 2-0 lead thanks to Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi but Jean-Philippe Mateta scored twice to earn the home side a point.
Mateta’s first goal was originally ruled offside but VAR overturned the decision despite replays not showing clear images of the Frenchman being onside.
And Cooper says Leicester have submitted evidence to suggest the goal should not have stood in a meeting this week.
He said: “We’re over it now, but it was an awful human error.
“We have seen images that show he clearly was offside, but they froze it at the wrong time – everything seen has been a false image.
“An awful human error that’s been hidden in the media” 🗣️

“We had a massive error go against us, errors like that shouldn’t happen and it’s why we’re changing to the semi-automated system.
“We felt very let down by it. We needed to stand up for the club and tell the Premier League what we thought.”
Leicester are yet to win on their return to the Premier League but face Everton – who are also winless – on Saturday.
Cooper and his players will certainly be hoping to see a less eventful game than the one at Selhurst Park last weekend.
