Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag still has the backing of the club’s key figures despite a slow start to the season.
The Red Devils slugged home to an eighth-placed finish last term, their worst since 1990.
And the 2024-25 campaign has not started much better, winning one and losing two of their opening three games.
Falling 3-0 at Old Trafford to rivals Liverpool has put Ten Hag in the spotlight once again, despite signing a one-year extension having won the FA Cup in May.
But a loss against Southampton after the international break could spell trouble for the Dutchman, especially after spending significantly to bring more players in this summer.
For now, he has the support of co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Dan Ashworth.

Speaking to reporters on the situation, Berrada said: “It was a decision taken prior to both of our arrivals, but we are very happy with it.
“Erik has our full backing. We think he is the right coach for us.
“We have worked very closely together in this transfer window and we are going to continue working very closely with him to help get the best results out of the team.”
Ashworth added: “”All I can do is reiterate that I’ve really enjoyed working with Erik for the last eight weeks.
“My job is to support him in every way I possible can, whether that’s operationally, with recruitment, medical, psychology, [and] the training ground flow to allow him to fully focus on the training pitch and match tactical plan, to deliver success for Manchester United.”
