Leicester City claimed a crucial 2-1 win over Tottenham in a tense encounter ending their winless streak in the Premier League.

Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss struck early in the second half to overturn Richarlison’s first-half opener, leaving Spurs stunned and deepening their struggles under Ange Postecoglou.

The game began  with Tottenham dominating early proceedings. Richarlison, making his second league start of the season, gave Spurs the lead in the 33rd minute.

Pedro Porro whipped in an inch-perfect cross from the right, and the Brazilian met it with a diving header to beat Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk.

Spurs continued to press, with Porro striking the woodwork and Heung-min Son forcing a fine save from Stolarczyk, but they were unable to extend their lead before the interval.

Leicester’s lacklustre first-half display offered little indication of what was to follow.

Just 58 seconds into the second half, the Foxes levelled the match. Bobby De Cordova-Reid, influential throughout the second half, sent a low cross into the area, which Tottenham’s defence failed to clear.

Vardy pounced, smashing home from close range to score his 10th career goal against Spurs and spark life into Leicester.

Moments later, the visitors completed their comeback. De Cordova-Reid intercepted a loose pass from Rodrigo Bentancur and found El Khannouss in space.

The Jamaica international curled a sublime effort into the bottom corner from 20 yards, silencing the home crowd and putting Leicester 2-1 ahead by the 50th minute.

Tottenham sought a response, with Porro and substitute Mikey Moore both coming close.

Porro rattled the crossbar with a thunderous free-kick from 30 yards, while Moore saw a goal-bound volley saved brilliantly by Stolarczyk in added time.

The defeat marked their fourth consecutive Premier League loss, leaving Postecoglou’s side languishing in the bottom six and searching for answers.

For Leicester, the victory was a much-needed boost in their fight against relegation.
