West Ham have made a significant offer for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, submitting a bid worth £57 million for the Colombian international.
According to The Athletic, the bid is expected to be rejected by Villa, who have no intention of selling the 21-year-old during this transfer window.
The club recently extended Duran’s contract until 2030, reflecting their commitment to retaining the talented forward despite significant interest from other clubs.
West Ham have been long-term admirers of Duran and submitted a £30million bid for the striker, including teenage midfielder Lewis Orford, last summer, which was subsequently rejected by Villa.
Duran joined Villa from MLS side Chicago Fire in January 2023 but has primarily been used as an impact substitute, making only seven Premier League starts this season.
Ollie Watkins has been the preferred starting striker for manager Unai Emery, while Duran has contributed 12 goals across all competitions this season, including a goal in Villa’s opening-day victory over West Ham.

West Ham are currently seeking to bolster their attacking options following injuries to key players.
Jarrod Bowen is out with a fractured foot, and Niklas Fullkrug is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Michail Antonio is also recovering from injuries suffered in a car crash and will not return this season.
The two clubs will face each other in a crucial Premier League encounter this Sunday at Villa Park.
