Wolves head coach Gary O’Neil says success will follow Eddie Howe wherever he goes.
The Newcastle boss brings his side to Molineux in the Premier League this weekend and will go up against a good friend in O’Neil.
Reports have recently suggested that Howe may not be in the frame to keep his job on Tyneside for too much longer as the Magpies look to take that next step towards the elite clubs in England.
But O’Neil had strong praise for the former Bournemouth coach in his pre-match press conference and opened up on his relationship with him.
He said: “British managers working in the Premier League – there aren’t too many of us, so it’s nice to see Eddie working high up the league.
“You don’t get that through luck – it’s sacrifice, hard work and intelligence.
Gary O’Neil will be speaking to the press at 1pm today.

“We don’t bounce things off each other, we’re both a bit too private and proud for that, but there’s still a real respect for what he’s done there. I’m sure he’ll be successful no matter where he goes.”
Wolves have had a tough start to the season, losing to Arsenal and Chelsea before battling back to draw against Nottingham Forest before the international break.
But O’Neil is not concerned by the results and admits his side have a difficult fixture list to start the 2024-25 campaign.
He added: “We know at this moment we are going to play a lot of teams who are expected to finish high up the league.
“Not many people outside of here expect us to take many points, but that is not our expectation. Our expectation is to show we have got a good side and see what we can achieve.”
Following Newcastle’s visit, Wolves have to face Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City in three of their next five matches.
