Wolves have completed the signing of defender Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims.
The Ivory Coast international has signed a four-year deal at Molineux in a deal worth £16.6million as he becomes the first signing of Vitor Pereira’s reign.
Agbadou, 27, has been a consistent performer for Reims during a two-and-a-half year spell in Ligue 1, making 80 appearances for the French side.
Wolves turned their attention to the centre-back after failing in their attempts to land Kevin Danso from Lens.
“Emmanuel’s a winner and he’s driven,” said Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs.
“After the journey’s had, he’s still unbelievably hungry. He’s the type of player the Wolves fans should love, because you’re going to get absolutely everything he’s got.
“When Vitor came in it’s the first conversation we had, to add one quick. There are so many games in January, so you can’t afford to waste a month.
“We have to use this month to be as efficient as possible, and we’re really excited about this signing.”

The Premier League strugglers had made a new centre-back a priority during the January transfer window following former captain max Kilman’s departure to West Ham in the summer before losing Yerson Mosquera to a season-ending injury.
Pereira’s side are out of the relegation zone on only goal difference following Monday’s 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.
The Portuguese boss previously picked up seven points from his first three games in charge after succeeding Gary O’Neil as manager.
