AC Milan this morning confirmed the sacking of head coach Paulo Fonseca after six months in the role.
The Portuguese claimed he had been fired as he left San Siro following the 1-1 draw with Roma on Sunday night and the club’s official announcement came hours later.
Milan are expected to appoint Sergio Conceicao as his replacement.

A club statement read: “AC Milan announces that Paulo Fonseca has been relieved from his duties as Head Coach of the Men’s First Team. The Club extends its gratitude to Paulo for his great professionalism and wishes him the very best in his future endeavours.”
The weekend stalemate leaves the Rossoneri eighth in the Serie A table, 14 points behind joint leaders Atalanta and Napoli.
Fonseca coached Milan for 24 games in total, winning just 12 with the highlight being a 3-1 victory at Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Conceicao has vast experience of Serie A having played for Lazio, Parma and Inter. He stepped down as Porto coach in June.
