Juventus released an official statement after their English-language X account made a surprising and unauthorised transfer announcement on Monday.

Fans were left stunned when the account appeared to announce the signing of Real Madrid’s young talent, Arda Guler.

The post, which caught many by surprise, read: “Welcome to Juventus, Arda Guler! The rising star of football is now part of the #Juventus family! Ready to make history together on this new journey?”

Though Guler has been rumoured to potentially join Juventus on loan, the announcement puzzled fans, especially considering the January transfer window is still six weeks away.

However, it was soon revealed that the account had been hacked.

Juventus’ Italian account issued a statement clarifying that the Guler signing was false.

“Our Juventus English account has been compromised. Please ignore the false information being published on this account. We are working on the issue,” read the club’s official response.

Following this, the hackers posted a message on the compromised account that read: “Olm sakaydi lan,” which translates to “omg it was a joke.”

While Guler has indeed been linked to Juventus after struggling for playing time at Real Madrid, this announcement was entirely fabricated.

Since joining the Spanish club from Fenerbahce in 2023, the 19-year-old has made just 22 appearances, scoring six goals.

His limited minutes have reportedly led to frustration for the young Turkish player, with speculation about his future growing.

Reports suggest that Guler is considering his options, especially after head coach Carlo Ancelotti allegedly criticised his training intensity.

Whether a real move to Juventus materializes in the January transfer window remains to be seen.
