Match preview
Troyes and Montpellier are set to clash in the bottom half of Ligue 1 this weekend with the two clubs aiming to rocket themselves further away from the relegation zone.
Ahead of the game, it’s Troyes who are lacking behind Montpellier by four goals. Worse yet, the club are only above the bottom three by one point, as they sit with a worse goals difference record than 16th-placed Strasbourg too.
Patrick Kisnorbo’s men have let in 52 goals in Ligue 1 from 23 games this season and no side across France has let in more. In fact, their only win since the World Cup was against Strasbourg back in January.
As for Montpellier, they jumped back into the win column last weekend when they defeated Brest 3-0 after previously losing to Paris Saint-Germain and Strasbourg.
Montpellier have actually won seven games this season but lost 14, with them also drawing just two games. On the other hand, they’ve let in 45 goals in 23 games.
