Match preview

15th will play hosts to 14th this Wednesday in the week of Ligue 1′s return to our TV screens as Troyes play hosts to Nantes at the Stade de l’Aube with just one point separating the two sides in the attempts to steer further away from the relegation zone.

Troyes have managed to win one more game than Nantes so far in Ligue 1 with three compared to their two. On the other hand, with 32 goals conceded, they are the worst defensive teams for those sitting outside of the bottom three.

Troyes have, however, scored 26 goals, which is the same amount as second-placed Lens, despite them sitting only one point above the bottom four. The club played out two games during the World Cup break, drawing 0-0 with Premier League’s Leicester City before a 1-0 win over Paris FC in Ligue 2.

As for Nantes, they lost to Lorient in a friendly just one week ago, while they also drew 1-1 with Stade Laval. Antoine Kombouaré’s men are now only above the relegation spots in Ligue 1 on goals difference, with them having let in 24 goals and scored just 17 of their own.

At the same time, they have won only two games so far this season and lost just six times. In fact, the bulk of their points from their seven draws so far this campaign.
