Chelsea have the biggest squad in the Premier League at present.
After a staggering £600m spend in the past year, the Blues ended 2022/23 with 32 senior players on their books.
Denis Zakaria and Joao Felix will return from their loan spells, but 30 players is still enough to field two different starting elevens and have eight players left over, which is simply too much.
The west Londoners will also be bringing in Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig this summer and it is likely Mauricio Pochettino will want to make a few signings of his own.
So, it is clear that Chelsea have to sell a number of players this summer, and they look set to do exactly that.
As per the Evening Standard, Chelsea need to balance the books after spending more than £600m this past season — and they could sell up to 12 players.
It is added that whilst Mauricio Pochettino cannot officially start work until July 1, he will advise on player sales, alongside co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart.
