Manchester United headed into the game looking to bounce back from a hammering at the hands of Sevilla in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
However, they are still without key defensive duo Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, leaving Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to deputies – though Luke Shaw started at centre-back ahead of Maguire vs the Seagulls.
But Brighton had some injury issues of their own as Evan Ferguson is out injured and Joel Veltman was only fit enough for the bench as well.
As a result, a tight clash was expected at Wembley as both sides battle to join Manchester City in the final of the competition next month.
At the time of writing, the score remains deadlocked at 0-0.
Brighton have controlled the tempo somewhat but have not created too much in terms of big chances.
That man is Casemiro. The Brazilian was one of Manchester United’s best players in the first half of the campaign, but a lot of United fans have taken to social media on Sunday to suggest he his form has dropped off:
