Aaron Ramsdale has claimed that he plans to spend the rest of his career with Arsenal, revealing that his aim is to stay with them for another 15 years.

The Gunners shot stopper arrived from Sheffield United at the beginning of the 2021/22 season, and immediately displaced Bernd Leno, taking over following a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City in the third game of the season.

And the Englishman has proved a revelation, with his ability to play out from the back a key facet of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side’s success. As it stands, he sits tied with Newcastle United’s Nick Pope on 12 clean sheets, and has conceded just 25 goals in the Premier League this season.

Though he is occasionally questioned for his decision making, he has turned the scepticism that greeted his move from Sheffield United into plaudits, and he himself is keen to keep the good times rolling.

“Arsenal, where I can see myself for 10, 12, 15 years — that’s the aim, to stay at the top for that amount of time”, he told the media at the London Football Awards on Monday night.

“Hopefully, I’ll never have to leave and become a real sort of hero and legend at this football club”.

Ramsdale is expected to be in the England squad named by Gareth Southgate this week for the Euro2024 qualifiers against Italy and the Ukraine, but it is expected that Jordan Pickford will remain the England no.1.
