Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli are looking to muscle in on Manchester United’s attempts to sign Fiorentina man Sofyan Amrabat, with the Moroccan midfielder considered among their top targets.

Al-Ahli have been one of the busier sides in the Saudi Pro League this summer as they look to build a side to compete for the title after coming third last season.

They have already announced the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, as well as wide pair Riyad Mahrez and Alan Saint-Maximin, both of whom have left the Premier League for around 30m euros.

The Saudi side have also added Roberto Firmino to their ranks on a free transfer, but are not set to stop there.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, the next player that they are looking to sign is none other than Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat.

The 26-year-old is seemingly certain to leave this summer, and is valued at around 30m euros by Fiorentina amid interest from both Barcelona and Manchester United.

Erik Ten Hag’s side, meanwhile, could have to wait a while before entering into negotiations for the La Viola star. They have spent £175m already this summer on three new signings, and are expected to have to sell before they can invest further in the squad.

Barcelona are unlikely to make a move any time soon either, with their financial issues severely limiting their spending this summer and right back a priority for Xavi’s side following the arrival of Ilkay Gundogan in midfield on a free transfer.

It will leave Amrabat with a decision to make on his future, whether or not to accept Al-Ahli’s lucrative proposal or hold out in hope for Manchester United to come calling.
