Al-Hilal have turned their attentions to Napoli star Victor Osimhen after missing out on Kylian Mbappe, it has been reported by sources in France.

The Saudi Arabian side tabled a world record 300m euros bid for Paris Saint Germain’s star man, and were thought to be offering a massive 700m euros salary across just a 12-month contract.

However, Mbappe refused to even entertain discussions with Al-Hilal’s representatives after the bid was accepted by the French giants, who he is set to leave as a free agent in 12 months time as things stand.

Still on the hunt for a superstar addition, L’Equipe report that Al-Hilal have now turned their attentions to Napoli hero Osimhen, who helped them win their first Scudetto for 40 years last season and who has also been on the radars of Manchester United and Chelsea this summer.

Believed to be priced at around £150m, the Saudi side have already shown that they have no problem breaking the bank in a bid to sign players, and though Aurelio De Laurentis has been vocal in his desire to keep Osimhen at the Diego Maradona stadium this summer, a major bid could well change his mind.

He had previously claimed that only Paris Saint Germain could afford to sign the Nigerian, but a new power in the game could well have something to say about that.

“So if Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to take out 200 or so, then we will wait and evaluate.”

The Saudi top-spenders have already landed Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer, along with Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

They remain keen on signing Aleksander Mitrovic too, with the Fulham striker set to go on strike to force through a move to Saudi Arabia this summer in a deal expected to be worth around £50m.

Al-Hilal are also closing in on a move to sign Marco Verratti from PSG, having missed out on Mbappe, and are set to pay around £30m for the Italian this summer.
